Proficiency-Based Education (PBE) is a system that includes curriculum design, assessment, and grading that allows for students to work on a standard until they demonstrate proficiency. The goal of PBE is for students to be given time and a variety of ways to learn and demonstrate proficiency of a given set of standards.
